Many wonderful blogs are written by dedicated authors who are neither famous nor well-known and do not have a platform, other than networking with other bloggers, to get their work noticed, much of which is really superb.
We’re not talking about niche blogs devoted to discussions of a particular malady, condition, profession, occupation, hobby, religious belief . . . There are already plenty of blog hubs and directories where folks who share common characteristics such as gender, sexual orientation, parenthood, etc. can find and assist each other by virtue of their common experiences.
In contrast, this hub has been conceptualized and is specifically designed to connect people who, irrespective of their particularized characteristics, blog, at least in part, for the purpose making the world around them — including the blog world — a better place as evidenced by the outlook expressed and reflected in their own or others’ writing that they share within their site.
We spotlight blogs that offer a kind word, display a generous spirit, convey an attempt by the writer to grasp meaning in the mundane, and conceptualize and give context to their lives and the lives of those they love.
This blog is designed to direct you, the reader, to those kinds of sites so that you can
benefit from the experience of visiting them and, hopefully, pick up a bit of wisdom, insight, knowledge . . . or just have your day brightened, especially if you are feeling a little down, by being exposed to the writing of someone who is, as the quotation says, enjoying the garden and may be able to help you enjoy it more.
What garden, you ask? We believe that the “garden” referenced in the quote above is a metaphor for life — and all of its beauty. It is just outside your window, well within your grasp. It is a place where you can get comfortable, enjoy a cup of tea, read, listen to music, close your eyes and dream . . . it is “here and now,” rather than, as Mr. Carnegie said, over some far-away horizon.
Leave the darkness of the world behind when you click on this blog’s address and come to the magical rose garden to be uplifted, inspired, and made to feel just a little less weary and weighed down by your responsibilities, obligations, and the demands made upon you. We would like you to think of the Magical Rose Garden and its members’ sites as places of respite.
Come here no matter what your religious convictions, beliefs or spiritual path.
We invite you to become a member of our ring and/or blogroll by leaving a comment or dropping us an e-mail: magicalrosegarden at gmail dot com.
You may simply join without having us spotlight your blog, but if you would like to have us write a post about your blog or one that you believe deserves recognition, let us know. We will then visit that site, read the content and write about it here in the hope that others will also visit — and benefit.
Questions? Ideas? Suggestions? All are welcome!
