“Every moment is a moment to learn something,” the Blue Panther said in his very first post on October 5, 2005. And ever since then, he has been striving for greater awareness and knowledge about the world around him, his fellow human beings and himself. “What’s important is for the strong to recognize their strength and help the weak instead of feeding on the weak and getting stronger.”
So why the Blue Panther? You can read a charming recollection that explains much about his outlook on life here. Therein, he says, “. . . Blue Panther, as a name, is a favorite of mine and for reasons that I can’t explain, whenever I have started anything I have tried to somehow manage to put a Blue Panther in that name. So when it was time to have a blog, why would it be any different, thus my blog is called The Blue Panther Experience.”
He writes concise, but thoughtful, posts about a wide variety of topics. Indeed, early on he reported that a friend accused him of being “random,” but we’re not sure that’s a bad thing because the Blue Panther writes about what is on his mind at any given time which provides his readers with variety. Topics have ranged from his observations about day-to-day life, including his struggles with smoking, to childhood memories to his life philosophies, favorite Shakespearian quotes and words. We are impressed by the sincerity and wonder with which the Blue Panther writes:
This is blog is about things that anyone can understand, educated or not, rich or not, living in the developed world or the third world. It is about us - the people. This blog is egoistical because ego is the most potent force that drives everything and anything. People with big egos are disliked universally but the fact is that it is one of those disliked people that grow , so much, in stature that people begin to like them for their other qualities. What if they were a little egoistical -No one can be perfect.
I have wandered here. I was talking about universality here. Ambition is a universal feeling. It permeates the entire gamut of species. Then dreaming is another thing that we all do. I am not talking here about the dreams that we dream when we are asleep, but the dreams we dream when we see a bright and rosy future for us. In this context dream and ambition are words that are often interchanged.
The Blue Panther has always tried to post every Sunday, but last summer he opened his concerted effort up to other participants, creating Blog Your Blessings Sunday. He explains:
Blog your blessings is about blogging the good things in life; things that bring a smile on one’s face, even in the most desperate situations. There are moments and people like these around us everywhere, all we have to do is look carefully.
You don’t need to do a whole post, you can if you like, but just a few lines that spread the good vibes, will be enough. I hope we get a lot of people interested in this
endeavor, because this world is a beautiful place and we need to appreciate it, and every once in a while we should take our time out to thank the Maker for giving us a chance to live this life. So every Sunday, Blog Your Blessings and spread the good word and a smile or many smiles.
Consistent with his overall approach to blogging, the Blue Panther has written about a wide-ranging assortment of blessings in his life including his English teacher, marriage, doctors, books, grandparents . . . even the mistakes was all make because “instead of being bogged down by them, [we should] learn our lessons and try to make sure that we never ever repeat a mistake that we have made once before. If we can do that then a mistake, instead of being a curse, becomes a true blessing.” The Blog Your Blessings blogroll has been steadily growing as bloggers discover this wonderful, but simple, way to spend a few moments each week taking stock of the good things in their life.
Check out The Blue Panther Experience and Other Things and spend a few moments getting to know the Blue Panther. It will be a worthwhile experience. (And be sure to let him know that we sent you!)
